How does Orcast edit a multicam podcast automatically?
Drop in the files from every camera and microphone. Orcast lines them up by their audio — frame-accurate, no clapperboard or timecode — then cuts to whoever is speaking to build a finished multicam edit you can export.
Does my video ever leave my computer?
No. Your video files are never uploaded — they stay on your computer. To work out the cut, Orcast reads the sound locally and sends only technical audio data — never the video itself.
Does Orcast switch cameras automatically by who's speaking?
Yes. Orcast does automatic multicam camera switching by who is speaking: it syncs your cameras by sound and exports a finished mp4 or a layered timeline for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
What does the free version include?
Orcast is free to download and use (a free email sign-in and an internet connection are required). The first 5 minutes of every edit are free, with full sync-by-sound and auto-cut — and you can export them. Editing and exporting the full episode is part of Pro.
